Spiker Debuts With Solid Second

Two-year-old trotting colt Jayport Spiker made his Ontario Sires Stakes debut at Hanover Raceway on July 9.
With trainer John Powell in the bike, Spiker sat second and closed in :30.4 to keep his position and finish in the runner-up spot for onwers John Powell, Ken Payne and John Dargie. Jayport Spiker (Angus Hall – Jayport Ellie May) was a $16,000 Canadian Yearling Sale purchase and his full brother Jayport Flash sells in the 2011 Canadian Yearling Sale.
